A Purpose-Built Barn Designed for Life on the Land

John needed a custom Aussie barn that did more than just store his gear. He wanted a practical, well-designed space that could house his caravan, protect his tractor, and serve as a dedicated workshop. Standard options were not going to cut it. He needed something built to suit his property and the way he worked. That is where Debret stepped in, designing a barn that was tough, functional, and built to last. Now, John has the perfect setup with a barn that looks great, works hard, and stands strong for years to come.

John’s property needed a custom Aussie barn that could handle multiple functions without feeling cluttered. His existing setup left his caravan exposed to the elements, his tractor sitting out in the open, and his workspace crammed into a corner. Debret designed a three-bay barn with a high-pitched center and two awnings, creating dedicated zones for each need while maintaining a spacious, well-organized layout.

A Fully Managed Build – From Design to Construction

Debret handled everything from engineering and council approvals to site prep and construction – giving John a completely stress-free experience. The project started with earthworks and levelling to ensure a stable foundation before the build began. The high-strength steel structure was designed to withstand Australia’s harsh conditions, ensuring John’s custom Aussie barn was built to last.

To streamline the process, Debret managed all council approvals, site-specific engineering, and material selections, making sure the barn met regulations while delivering a seamless, high-quality result. With expert builders on-site, the barn took shape quickly, from the custom roller doors to the strategically placed skylights that maximize natural light inside.

Debret designed John’s custom Aussie barn to be practical, secure, and built to last. They installed three large roller doors so John can easily access each bay. A personal access door lets him come and go without opening the main entrances. At the back, they added a water tank to capture runoff and boost water storage. To keep the shed secure, they left out windows and instead installed lighting along the structure to keep the inside bright. The 30-degree centre pitch gives him plenty of clearance, making it easy to move the caravan in and out.
